MELBOURNE ROUND TOUR
7 Days
Travelling from Melbourne and out along Victoria’s southwest and southeast coasts allows you to ride some of the most scenic areas of Victoria and Australia. Ride one of Australia’s most famous and best motorcycling roads, the Great Ocean Road. The Great Ocean Road has something for everyone. Pristine beaches, rain forests, beautiful towns such as Torquay and Lorne and of course, the famous 12 Apostles. On the way back, take the Ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento, where we visit the fabulous Mornington Peninsula with a more spectacular coastline, beautiful seaside villages, wine country and more. Finally, we end up at Phillip Island and the unique wildlife attractions it provides.

GREAT OCEAN ROAD & PHILLIP ISLAND ITINERARY
Day 1 Melbourne – Arrival (0 miles / 0 kms)
Welcome to Melbourne. It has been voted the world’s most livable city, and you will understand why. There are fabulous parks, quirky laneways, restaurants and cafes, and numerous bars and nightclubs. Melbourne is also one of the world’s sporting capitals, so check what’s on before you arrive. Get settled into your hotel, and we will all get together at the welcome dinner.
Day 2 Melbourne to Apollo Bay (140 miles / 224 kms)
This morning you pick up your motorcycle in Melbourne and begin your journey heading out to the most spectacular road in Australia. Ride fantastic roads taking in the incredible scenery. From EagleRider in Mitcham, we will head toward the Great Ocean Road travelling through the tourism-based beachside towns of Anglesea, Torquay and Lorne before spending the night at Apollo Bay.

Day 3 Apollo Bay to Port Campbell (235 miles / 376 kms)
Today we continue to travel the Great Ocean Road. In addition to travelling on the road “built” for motorcycles, we will stop to take in the views of the 12 Apostles, London Bridge, and Perry’s Look Out before stopping the night at Port Campbell. If you are up for it, take a breathtaking helicopter flight over the most beautiful scenery in Australia, the 12 Apostles, the Bay of Islands via London Bridge, or take in the beauty of the entire Shipwreck Coast to Australia’s oldest lighthouse at Cape Otway.
Day 4 Port Campbell to Sorrento (190 miles / 304 kms)
Today we will head inland but not before we visit Logans Beach at Warrnambool, hopefully, to view female Southern Right whales who return to these waters to calve. The whales often swim within a hundred metres of the shore. After leaving, Warrnambool will head north to the seaside village of Queenscliff, where we will then take the Ferry across the bay to Sorrento.

Day 5 Sorrento to Phillip Island (137 miles / 219.2 kms)
After breakfast and perhaps a stroll along the beach in Sorrento, we will head a little further south to visit one of Australia’s most expensive areas of real estate in the beachside town of Portsea. From Portsea, we will head inland and travel along the edge of Western Port Bay; however, instead of travelling directly to Phillip Island, we will take a slight detour and visit the southern coastal towns of Inverloch and Kilcunda. These are great motorcycling roads with spectacular views. Once we arrive and settle in at your accommodation in Phillip Island, take the chance to see some of the unique wildlife in the world. Attend the Penguin parade or visit the Australian wildlife reserve.
Day 6 Phillip Island to Mitcham (155 miles / 248 kms)
We will now head back to EagleRider in Mitcham; however, we will take the less beaten path travelling via the beautiful Gippsland Hills before turning northwest through Warburton, Healesville and the Yarra Valley to our destination of EagleRider Melbourne. Tonight, we’ll celebrate the adventure over a delicious Farewell Dinner.
