It’s Biker Heaven…Each year, Sturgis’ Main Street becomes a sea of motorcycles, leather and denim, not to mention, people. Since 1938, Sturgis has welcomed motorcycle enthusiasts from across the United States and around the world to the annual Motorcycle Rally. Based out of this small community in the northern Black Hills, the Rally officially runs for seven days every August. Attend the Rally once and it becomes clear why it’s a mandatory destination for so many bikers. The sound of growling engines, the smell of exhaust, and the glint of sunlight off chrome are just a few of the elements that make the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally a unique experience.And since it’s all about the journey, join us for a ride that celebrates the beauty of the West – from the Wasatch Mountains, through Yellowstone National Park, to the rodeos of Cody Wyoming and the monolith that is Devil’s tower. By the time you arrive in Sturgis, you will be primed to celebrate the experience of motorcycle riding across the wild landscapes of America!


Day 1: Salt Lake City – Arrival 0 mi/0 km

Welcome to Salt Lake City, Utah’s high-elevation capital bordered by the buoyant waters of the Great Salt Lake and the snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Range. Downtown’s 10-acre Temple Square, headquarters of the Mormon Church, is home to the majestic, 19th-century Salt Lake Temple and Temple Square. Spend time exploring the many museums and historic theaters or immerse yourself in the world-class shopping and dining district of City Creek Center featuring a unique shopping environment with a retractable roof and a creek winding through the property, Tonight you will meet your guides and fellow riders and learn about your upcoming ride!

Day 2: Salt Lake City – Jackson, WY 267 mi/427.2 km

Today we pick up our bikes and head north riding through the spectacular canyons of Utah, and the farming lands of Idaho, cruising along the shores of Bear Lake and following the winding Snake River up to the spectacular mountain town of Jackson, Wyoming. One of the most famous and exclusive ski resort areas of the United States, Jackson is home to sprawling cattle ranches, celebrity estates and roaming herds of buffalo. Tonight we will enjoy the vibrant nightlife of Jackson Hole.

Day 3: Jackson – Cody, WY via Yellowstone NP 237 mi/379.2 km

Today will be spent winding our way through the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks! The spectacular Grand Teton rises ‘7000 (2134m ) up from the Valley floor to ’13,777 (4200m) . We will cruise through this park and into Yellowstone, stopping to watch the greatest geyser of all do its thing – Old Faithful! From here we will spend the day experiencing the extraordinary wildlife of the area, the majesty of Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, before descending into the town of Cody, Wyoming. Created in the 1880’s by Buffalo Bill Cody, this town still has that Wild West feel. Stoll down to watch the shoot-out at the Historic Irma Hotel or head to the local Cody Rodeo to watch cowboys on bucking broncos and bulls. It’s the Wild West!

Day 4: Cody – Sheridan, WY 147 mi/235.2 km

As we leave Cody this morning, we’ll head east towards the wild landscapes of the Bighorn mountains. Deep canyons, twisty road, vast expanses of red-toned rocks, open ranches and the occasional herd of wild Mustangs make up this part of our ride today as we traverse the Bighorns and the lands of the Crow Indians before descending into Sheridan, Wyoming for the night.

Day 5: Sheridan – Rapid City, SD via Devil’s Tower 276 mi/441.6 km

The ride today takes us across the Powder River Basin area of the Great Plains. The area is defined as that between the Bighorn Mountains and the Black Hills and was the site of one of the largest of the Lakota Sioux wars against the U.S. Army led by the warrior Red Cloud from 1866-1868. Just before we head into South Dakota, we will stop at Devil’s Tower, a massive piece of rock rising almost 900’ (300m) from the plains. Take come cool photos here before we finally descend into what you’ve been waiting for – The Sturgis Experience!

Day 6: Rapid City – Sturgis Black Hills Rally 0 mi/0 km

Let’s shake off the dust from our first evening in Sturgis and go for a ride. There are a multitude of day ride opportunities to choose from. You can take in one of the organized trips, venture off on your own, or simply take the short trip back to downtown Sturgis to take in all that is Sturgis.

Day 7: Rapid City – Sturgis Black Hills Rally 0 mi/0 km

Enjoy a day ride or head back to town for another crazy day.

Day 8: Rapid City – Sturgis Black Hills Rally 0 mi/0 km

This is the last day to enjoy Sturgis. Let your imagination run wild!

Day 10: Rapid City – Cheyenne, WY 289 mi/462.4 km

We’ll sleep in just a bit and hit the road late morning after a nice breakfast. The good news is we will start the journey to Cheyenne with one last trip through the Black Hills of South Dakota. The ride to Cheyenne is as beautiful as any of the day trips we have enjoyed over the past four days. Tonight we will enjoy some true cowboy hospitality and some of the finest steaks in Wyoming.

Day 11: Cheyenne – Denver via Estes Park 155 mi/248 km

he final riding leg of our journey is not a long one, but definitely one to remember. We’ll take one last ride through the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains before easing our way back into the city life that has seemed a million miles away for the past nine days. Tonight we will celebrate together and raise a glass to the accomplishment of a lifelong dream for most motorcycle riders, as we simply toast to “Sturgis.”
