The Grand Ladakh – 12 Days

3 High Passes, 3 Lakes & Ancient Culture

Ladakh is a beautiful region located at an altitude of 10,000 feet. It is largely Buddhist and is also called Little Tibet. Ladakh, popularly known as the Land of High Passes, attracts visitors with its rich Buddhist culture and lovely landscape. It was the crossroads of the ancient trade routes from South Asia, and until the end of the 19th century, mule trains carrying shawls and spices made the journey from Amritsar through Ladakh to Yarkand in China. Ladakhโ€™s people are a mix of Tibetan and Indo-Aryan โ€“ it became part of independent India in 1948. Ladakh is a land of extremes; you can see snow-capped mountains and clear blue skies at the same time as arid dunes; azure blue lakes flow alongside some of the highest mountain peaks, and a road mix of rough and smooth, which makes it undoubtedly the most popular destination for motorcycle tours in India. The thought of a motorcycle ride to Ladakh is not for the faint-hearted, but with a bit of resilient nature and determination, one can easily conquer the ride through the mighty Himalayas, where the terrain is quite uneven; one must be prepared to face umpteen obstacles and challenges. Thisย Adventurous Mighty High Himalayan Motorcycle tourย is also known as aย high-altitude motorcycle expedition, as you will be staying overnight at altitudes of 3000 to 4600 metres. Of course, you willย ride a Royal Enfield 500cc Motorcycleย to conquer the Highest Motorable road, Khardung-la Pass (17,582 FT), Changla Pass (17,560 FT), Tanglangla Pass (17,480 FT) and all three most popular and beautiful lakes like Pangong Lake, Tsomoriri Lake, and Tsokar Lake, with the experience of Double Hump Camel Ride in Sand Dunes of Nubra Valley.ย Riding on the Highest Motorable Road and other high passes in the Himalayas is a lifetime moment for every motorcyclist.ย We invite all thrill-seeker motorcycle enthusiasts to join ourย High Himalayan Motorcycle Adventure Tour on a Legendary Royal Enfield 500cc Motorbike to test your skills.

Following a short orientation and safety briefing, your adventure kicks off as you ride westward into the stunning Sham Valley.
Your first stop is at Sangam, where the Indus and Zanskar Rivers merge in a striking confluence โ€” a natural spectacle where two rivers of distinct colours flow side by side. Next, visit the serene Likir Monastery, home to a massive gilded statue of Maitreya Buddha, and surrounded by peaceful, prayer-flag-draped hills.
The ride continues through lush apricot orchards, barley fields, and dramatic canyon landscapes, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. By late afternoon, youโ€™ll reach Hemis Shukpachan, a quiet Ladakhi village tucked among poplar groves, where you can truly immerse yourself in local traditions. Day 4 : Hemis Shukpachan to Leh via Alchi (Ride Day 2 – 100 km / 5 hrs ride)

After a leisurely breakfast at the eco-resort, start a ride to visit Alchi village, situated on the bank of the Indus River. The village is famous for Alchi Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh (a national heritage site), known mainly for its magnificent, well-preserved 11th- or 12th-century wall paintings. Further riding back, also enjoy the confluence of two rivers, Indus and Zanskar, also called Sangam Point; after that visit, the Pathar Sahib Gurdwara was built in 1517 to commemorate the visit to the Ladakh region of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder Guru of the Sikh faith and in last visit Hall of Fame (a museum constructed as well as maintained by the Indian Army in the memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives during the Indo-Pak wars. It is also termed as a memorial for the war heroes). Further, continue to ride to Leh. On arrival, check in at the hotel and relax.

Overnight in a hotel at Leh.

After a leisurely breakfast, take a moment to connect with family and friends via video calls or messagesโ€”Nubra offers relatively better internet connectivity compared to other high-altitude regions.
Begin the day with a ride to Diskit Monastery, the largest and oldest monastery in Nubra Valley, dating back to the 14th century. Perched dramatically on a hilltop, it offers sweeping panoramic views of the valley and houses an impressive statue of Maitreya Buddha. The ride to Diskit is an adventure in itself, with rugged mountain trails and a charming stream crossing adding to the experience.
From Diskit, continue to Hunder, a rare landscape where desert dunes, snow-capped peaks, lush greenery, and flowing water coexist in harmony. Pass through the unique white-grey sand dunes, home to the rare double-humped Bactrian camelsโ€”once vital to traders along the ancient Silk Route. Here, enjoy a camel safari across Nubraโ€™s distinctive grey dunes, a surreal high-altitude desert experience that contrasts sharply with the golden sands of Rajasthanโ€™s Thar Desert.
Return to your camp or boutique hotel by evening to relax. You may also take a leisurely stroll around the campsite to soak in the tranquil surroundings.

Overnight: Hotel / Glamping in Nubra Valley

Day 7: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (Ride Day 4 – 160 Km /7 Hrs Ride)

En route, stop for lunch at the quaint village of Loma or Tsaga (depending on the dayโ€™s progress). From here, ride deeper into the Changthang region, an untouched expanse of mountains, plains, and endless skies, before arriving at Hanle โ€” Indiaโ€™s first official โ€˜Dark Sky Reserveโ€™, famed for its crystal-clear night skies and world-class stargazing opportunities.
